Backsberg Chardonnay: Backsberg is the first winery in South Africa to gain Carbon Neutral status, and have consistently approached farming and wine-making with a clear sustainable attitude. These Chardonnay grapes were picked at various stages of ripeness to create a layered and complex flavour profile and the wine was lightly wooded and pairs perfectly with creamy dishes.

Babylonstoren Chenin Blanc: Do yourself a favour and book to do their daily 10am garden tour with their gardener extraordinaire, Gundula. You’ll thank us later. The farm is a treat to visit, and the vineyards of this very versatile South African cultivar are on the slopes of the Simonsberg outside Stellenbosch. #drinkchenin

Jordan The Outlier Sauvignon Blanc Barrel Fermented: This wine spent 8 months “sur lie” (on the lees, which are deposits of dead yeast cells) with occasional “batonage” (stirring the lees) to accentuate the leesy character. The grapes are sourced from a cool-climate south-facing vineyards in Stellenbosch, hence the name ‘Outlier’, as Stellenbosch is generally considered a warm climate.  The wine was barrel-fermented, giving extended depth and complexity.

Villiera Down to Earth White: Villiera has been committed to sustainable farming and production since inception, and quietly just get on with doing the right thing; from solar energy production before it was cool, to housing the life-changing Pebbles Project offices. They have not sprayed insecticides for over fifteen years and a flock of 1000 Peking ducks are responsible for some natural pest control. This fresh Down-to-Earth White is a lively and fresh un-wooded blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, and suitable for vegans.

Cederberg Bukettraube: Cederberg Winery, which has the highest altitude vineyards in the Western Cape, has consistently produced excellent award-winning wines, and this Bukettraube, a cultivar with only 77 hectares left in the world, is no different. It is slightly sweet with a crisp acidity, and just delicious with a spicy Asian meal.

Allée Bleue Sauvignon Blanc: Allée Bleue is well known for its avenue of beautiful blue-gum trees as you enter the estate. This Sauvignon offers a complex palate due to its time spent on the lees, giving the wine a crisp but silky finish.  Enjoy with light pastas.

We hold stock of these wines so if you need wines delivered in a hurry, or as a gift, this is the selection for you.
